In original studies by G. D. When Jerome Bressler, Compliance Officer of the FDA, retired I called him and thanked him for being one of the last honest FDA employees. He told me what was missing was two studies and they must be returned to the report because consumers were using this toxin without knowledge of serious problems. It took me 8 years to find them with the help of Dr. Madelon Price, who was Dr. John Olney's biochemist. Dr. Olney along with Attorney James Turner had tried to prevent approval. The FDA wanted G. D. Searle indicted for fraud but both US Prosecutors hired on with the defense team and the statute of limitations expired. Finally Dr. Olney was so disgusted with the shenanigans and fraud that he insisted G. D. So aspartame was never proven safe and even FDA scientist and toxicologist, Dr. Adrian Gross testified before Congress that aspartame violated the Delaney Amendment because it caused brain tumors and brain cancer. It also is adulterated and violates Interstate Commerce because its against the law to ship something adulterated for sale.
I gave these teratology records with the FDA admitting aspartame causes birth defects to Jerome Bressler, and added them back to the Bressler Report on www.mpwhi.com Lane Shore, Mission Possible Chicago and myself became good friends with Jerome and even visited him in the nursing home until he died. When he was able to get around he would go to the cafeteria and tell people drinking Diet Coke and such, "it's poison, please don't drink it." No one knew he had worked for the FDA during the period of the aspartame wars when FDA tried to keep it off the market and revoked the petition for approval. At this point Don Rumsfeld was hired by G. D. Searle to get it approved and did so with the help of President Reagan who wrote an executive order making the FDA Commissioner powerless to sign the revoked petition into law. He then appointed Dr. Arthur Hull Hayes who over-ruled the Board of Inquiry and then went to work for the PR Agency of the manufacturer on a ten year contract at $1000.00 a day. Aspartame approval unleased the hounds of disease and death on an unsuspecting population, and was rubberstamped around the world even though it had never been proven safe as the Board of Inquiry stated.
