This reminded me about my, now deceased, friend, Dom, whose multiple HS major
daughter couldn't figure 5% tax on $40.00 worth, used VHS movies that I was
purchasing at the video store where she worked. I correctly stated "$2.00, totaling
$42.00." She confirmed with her desktop calculator and asked how I mentally did
the calculation. I told her, returned home and recounted to her father. He told me
that HE REGULARLY HOME SCHOOLED her. Depressing
