MedicalConspiracies- Want to Boost your Metabolism?

Due to an injury,  I’ve been looking for a way to boost my Metabolism, but without strenuous exercise. My acupuncturist told me that a good way is to drink cinnamon and ginger tea with honey.  Here is his suggested recipe.

 

Cinnamon and Ginger Tea

 

Peel a piece of ginger root about 1 inch by 1 inch and slice it thinly.  Slicing it with the grain is easier than across the grain, I learned.

1 thick piece of cinnamon stick (or one and a half or two skinny ones about 3 inches long)

3 cups water.

 

Cover.  Simmer gently for at least an hour.  It should be very dark, almost brownish black.  You will be left with about 2 cups of tea, but you can add more water and boil longer, if need be.  Add 1 sugar-spoon size spoon of honey to each cup of tea.  It will be very sweet, but honey and cinnamon are also good for arthritis, so while you lose weight you can relieve your arthritic bones! Drink one cup morning and night.

 

It really does work!  I’ve been steadily, gradually losing weight.  The ginger, he says, heats the body’s internal temp and makes it burn more calories.  And it makes the house smell so nice, too!

 

Grocery stores sell ginger root for about $4 per lb.  Asian stores sell it for around $1 per lb.  Lucky you if you live near an Asian market!  If you don’t live near one, but you can occasionally get to one, you can freeze ginger root!  The dollar stores have packages of cinnamon sticks for $1 as do the Asian markets.  Grocery stores are a bit higher.  Oh, and when you buy your honey, DO NOT buy cheap honey from big stores. MOST major brands are imported honey.  Sue Bee, Wal-greens, Nice, and many other BIG store brands are imported.  They get their cheap honey from China…though not directly, because Chinese honey is outlawed here, because it is full of pesticides.  So the way the big stores get around that is to buy it from Thailand or other Asian countries where it has been shipped to.  The pollen, the healthy part of the honey, has been filtered out, because that would tell the inspectors which country it came from, so all you are left with when you buy the cheap honey is sweetness and pesticide.  I get my honey from a local farmer’s market.  It is $22 for half a gallon and that lasts a LONG time.
