Ralph Nader ran for president of the United States on the Green Party ticket in 1996 and 2000 and as an independent in 2004 and 2008. He is the author of more than 20 books, including Unsafe at Any Speed, an indictment of the auto industry published in 1965. As a consumer advocate he has spoken out on a variety of issues, including health care, food safety, environmental pollution, worker rights, tax reform, civil rights, and corporate influence.
