Dog, bound in duct tape, left for days in the rain
In a housing project in the south Bronx, N.Y., area, an abandoned dog, whose muzzle was bound in duct tape, suffered for days.
Those who saw him witnessed a pitiful sight...a dirty dog, his face mostly covered in tape, sitting in the rain, with no means to help himself.
Despite the pathetic way that the dog looked, nobody, until today, stopped to help.
Instead - they walked by, seemingly oblivious to his pain.
This morning, help finally arrived for the suffering dog, who is now known as "Snoopy."
Snoopy was rescued by Second Chance Rescue NYCand taken to a veterinary clinic. Aside from the obvious - tape around his muzzle, and his unkempt coat - he was found to have a shoe lace tied tightly around his neck.
Everything about Snoopy's condition screams of animal cruelty - who is behind the heinous act remains a mystery.
As of Wednesday afternoon, many things from this sad story are gone.
Gone is the duct tape which bound Snoopy's face.
Gone is the string which cut into his tender neck.
Gone is a nameless dog who was invisible to those who witnessed his suffering and walked by without stopping to offer help.
Gone is the pain of being alone and overlooked.
