Published April 3, 2016 | Pharma The past few weeks, there have been a series of news reports coming out of China revealing that thousands of doses of improperly stored and expired vaccines for children and adults were illegally sold for millions of dollars on the black market by more than 100 people associated with Chinese companies and vaccination centers. The international scandal has raised a lot of questions about vaccines made in China, just as China has been trying to enter the global vaccine market while simultaneously dealing with setbacks related to vaccine quality control issues. VACCINATION Toxic Phenol Ingredient in Vaccines Published April 4, 2016 | Ingredients Phenol, chemically known as carbonic acid, is a white, volatile crystal solid. It is a mildly acidic, water-soluble chemical that requires safe handling due its ability to cause chemical burns. Phenol is produced both "naturally" as well as synthetically. In its natural form, phenol was initially found in coal tar. It is also present naturally in human and animal wastes as well as in some foods. Chemical companies manufacture phenol on a large scale from petroleum and sell it commercially as a thick liquid. We have a bias based on our current beliefs or assumptions, many of which we have been told over and over again since we were born. The trick is to question our beliefs and assumptions, to see if they stand up to scrutiny. When we look at them are we happy that they are solid, scientific facts. I did not always know this and so I harmed my children. I am a mother who wants the best for her children, to protect and keep them safe, the same as other mothers, because we love them.    BUSINESS The Vaccine Compensation Court Published April 4, 2016 | Government In the United States, if a person is harmed by a product, they have the right to seek compensation through the judicial system. This is not the case for those injured by vaccines. In the 1980's, lawsuits against vaccine manufacturers and medical providers began to rise.
