This imaginative Spanish sculptor discovered a way to knead stones
Spanish sculptor José Manuel Castro López is not afraid to experiment and alter familiar ideas at his will. In his hand sculptures, which are skillfully carved from quartz and granite, he makes hard objects appear as malleable, soft, and squishy. The master says that he thinks of himself as more of a druid than a sculptor, as he tries to connect with each stone and breathe life into it. José doesn't come up with the design for his works in advance, counting on inspiration to strike during the process.
We at Bright Side were quite impressed with these unusual 'soft stones,' and we'd like to invite you to have a closer look at them with us.
