Schizophrenia – Psychosis or Something More Profound?

In the very ancient times, the shamanistic cultures viewed schizophrenics as having a connection to the spirit world. They would train them as to how to use this power, this gift, to connect with their hi...gher self and earn them the title of "healer." What would happen if we were to actually look deeper into what these "symptoms" include in non-clinical terms -- considering instead how the client them-self experiences them? Are schizophrenics seeing and hearing what we cannot?

Antioxidants: Perfect Panacea or Potential Toxins?

Antioxidants are feted for their never ending list of health benefits. Look online or in health food stores today and you'll find a huge variety of precious antioxidants for sale - capsules, powders, frui...ts and tinctures from all over the world. But are they really the magical cure-alls we're led to believe? As so often the case, it's not quite that simple.

Researcher Reveals Monsanto Has Known Since 1981 That Glyphosate Promotes Cancer

Glyphosate, the active ingredient in Monsanto's best-selling herbicide Roundup, is one of the most commonly used herbicides in the world. An estimated one billion pounds a year is sprayed on our food crops, resulting in the average American eating several hundred pounds of glyphosate-contaminated food every year. So how might that affect your health? Monsanto's own research also supports the WHO's International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) determination that glyphosate is a Class 2 A "probable human carcinogen."

Don't Worry – Everything is Not Under Control

The government keeps telling you that "everything is under control." Could that just be something they say to control you?

Why Playing Small Is Just Your Ego

When most of us think of the idea of the ego, we think of words like "egotistical" or "arrogant." What most don't understand is that the same ego that leads people to boast, self-inflate, name drop, and p...reen around with self importance can manifest as just the opposite. When you wallow in self-doubt, act like you're not good enough to belong, self-flagellate, or otherwise diminish yourself, that's not humility. It's more ego.

Glyphosate Nation: Troublesome Roundup Herbicide Found Throughout U.S. Food Supply — Organics Too

With an estimated 80% of the conventional food supply in the U.S. contaminated with glyphosate residues, those concerned with health are urged to adopt an 100% organic diet to avoid the toxin — which is s...old commercially as Monsanto's Roundup. So it's with great consternation that organic supporters are discovering their food choices may not be so safe after all, with growing evidence that not only human health but pollinators too are being adversely affected by Roundup and glyphosate contamination.

13 Practices of an Awakened Person

Tog-me Zong-po lived nearly 800 years ago yet his 37 Practices of a Bodhisattva is still considered a pinnacle list of traits a person who wishes to become enlightened for the benefit of all beings has. The following 13 practices (which I've put into simpler terms to make them easier to understand) are what I consider the most practical and helpful out of the 37.

Fennel 'Digestion Aid' Tea Recipe with Ginger and Lemon Verbena

Digestion is a fascinating topic. Healthy digestion is essential for optimal wellness; without it we don't absorb the nutrients from our food; we end up de-energised, under-the-weather and at worst, develop chronic illness as the digestive systems fails to delivery what is necessary to repair, maintain and uphold our day to day health. This recipe is for a digestion-supporting tea, using one of my favourite homemade blends. You can find these dried or fresh herbs in good health food stores or a traditional herbal apothecary. Better still, if you can, then grow your own.

Why Every Parent Should Consider Unschooling

We need to seriously rethink our school systems — especially in the U.S. With programs like No Child Left Behind (millions of children have actually been left behind) and Common Core (otherwise known as Common Conformity) in the United States, parents are finding the educational climate so unacceptable that they are willing to take a radically different path. While homeschooling has its benefits, some feel that using a structured curriculum along with testing suffocates a child's inherent creativity and love of learning. In those cases, parents turn to 'unschooling', a form of learning practised for a majority of human history.
