Special Update Re Ebola We hate to say it, but it needs to be said. And you need to know what you can do. We've learned two things in the past hour or so. One is that a second nurse has symptoms of Ebola. She was one of those looking after Thomas Duncan in Dallas – the Liberian man who died on October 8. She is the second one of those nurses to come down with Ebola symptoms, and has now been isolated. Secondly...she flew on a commercial flight before her symptoms became obvious. Which means anyone else on that flight must now be contacted and monitored as well – despite the claim by a CDC official that they are unlikely to contract the illness. US health officials have known since May that Ebola was killing people by the hundreds in West Africa. And yet nothing was done to stop people flying from there into the United States. Worse still, media maven Dr. Nancy Snyderman, NBC News’ chief medical correspondent, had to issue an apology on Monday after she and two of her crew members, all three of whom were under a 21-day quarantine, were spotted at a New Jersey restaurant. They had been in  West Africa covering the story, telling the world in their reports how deadly this disease is, then flew back to the States - and apart froim being among passengers on that commercial flight - they then broke their quarantine and went shopping for pizza. And now, an infected nurse has flown on a commercial flight within the US – quite possibly infecting dozens of others. While we sincerely hope that's not the case, we're also told the World Health Organization now says Ebola has a 42 day incubation period - TWICE as long as they've been telling us so far. Ebola is what's known as a Bio-Safety Level 4 (BSL-4) virus. That means those handling it should wear over-pressure suits and full-body coverage – which is what is required in BSL-4 laboratories. No hospital in the world that we know of has any such equipment. Certainly none of the thousands of EMS personnel in America has anything like that available. If this gets any further out of control, hospitals are going to be overwhelmed – and will also become the most likely place to contract the disease! However, let's not push the panic button. Let's be calm, and consider our personal options. While the FDA is ready to fast-track some sort of vaccine mash-up that their friends in Big Pharma are rushing to make money off of, we have been stressing that... ....a strong and healthy immune system should be considered one's personal and best available first line of defense. We say that, based on real evidence that the mainstream media totally ignores – because they always opt for the dark side of any story. Over 9000 people in West Africa have contracted Ebola. MORE THAN HALF OF THEM HAVE RECOVERED. And they did so when there was no available vaccine at all. No doubt some of them were given some sort of medications to alleviate their symptoms – but in the final analysis, at least on the available evidence, it was their immune system that finally got the upper hand.
