Dear Guns & Patriots reader, |
Today the Senate begins hearings on President Barack Obama's nominee for Surgeon General, Dr. Vivek Murthy. Murthy is a qualified physician, but we are not asking him to set a broken elbow. We are asking him to lead the U.S. Public Health Service and be the president's top advisor on health issues. First, I have always thought it odd that the Surgeon General has the rank and uniform of an admiral, but is addressed, like the Attorney General, as: "General." But, I digress. Second, Murthy is not just any doctor. He is the president and co-founder of Doctors for America, the Obama-Soros linked group formed to push the Left's agenda. Here is simple rule that conservatives learn the hard way whenever a Republican is elected president: Personnel are policy. It is a rule that Obama practices very well. A great example is when Obama wanted to end Don't Ask, Don't Tell, he installed a confirmed bachelor as the Secretary of the Army. In this week's roster, my article about Murthy goes into great detail about his effort to restrict gun rights, along with samples from his Twitter feed. The good news is that conservatives, led by Sen. Randall H. Paul (R.-Ky.), are mounting a fight against Murthy, even if the GOP leadership continues to forge a coalition government with the White House team. The other good news is that we have a tremendous roster for you to read this week.
Enjoy!
