This is the DEFCON Warning System. Alert status for 2 P.M. Friday, November 1st, 2013. Condition Green. DEFCON 5. Condition Green. DEFCON 5. Condition Green. DEFCON 5.
There are currently no imminent nuclear threats against the United States at this time.
The United States strategic stockpile has increased slightly rather than decreased as expected under the new START treaty. Analysts believe the data is an anomaly rather than a planned increase in force. Russia continues to reduce its arsenal, however it is believed that Russia's arsenal is undercounted. Russia, for its part, is to conduct further tests of its new RS-26 missile, which seems to be able to defeat current U.S. anti-missile defenses. Some also claim the missile is in violation of the 1987 Intermediate-range Nuclear Forces Treaty. Russia is also increasing its presence in the Arctic, setting the stage for future conflict for the disputed area and its resources, which Russia is claiming the lion's share of.
The U.S. Army warns that it has only two brigades combat ready due to U.S. budget problems. Moral among the U.S. military is in tatters, especially among the higher-ranking officers. U.S. enforcement of border security has, for all intent and purpose, stopped, which foreign players have taken a keen interest in. Based on the current political climate, it is very unlikely that the United States will resume border security in the foreseeable future.
U.S. diplomatic relations with Saudi Arabia have taken a tumble as Saudi Arabia objects to U.S. weak policies toward Iran as well as failing to support Saudi Arabia during recent uprisings. Diplomatic fallout continues to be felt as many U.S. allies express outrage over recent spying revelations, though it is uncertain how this is being affected behind the scenes as all powers spy on each other. Nevertheless, public perception is extremely negative and it can not be helped that this will hinder U.S. relations with its allies. This places the United States in a difficult position as it continues to lose respect in the world and countries turn to other powers such as Russia and China.
Vietnam has agreed to not to reprocess spent nuclear fuel or enrich uranium, however in the deal with the United States they reserve the right to enrich uranium at a later date, denuding the value of any deal made. Iran has announced plans for an additional 34 nuclear plants, mostly along the Gulf coast.
China has conducted a test of a maneuvering satellite that captured another satellite in space. China continues to make significant strides in space-based warfare which is an enormous threat to the United States as the U.S. increasingly relies on satellites to coordinate its military assets. China has also released plans for nuclear strikes on the United States, detailing planned targets and fatalities. China has also sent a spy ship to Hawaiian waters.
New satellite images have strengthened findings that North Korea's Yongbyon nuclear plant is operating again. There are reports that North Korea has finished building a number of subterranean missile silos in the north while satellite images show that North Korea appears to be preparing for further nuclear tests. though not in the immediate future. The United States and South Korea have recently agreed to pre-emptive strike against North Korea if there are indications that the North will use its nuclear weapons.
The DEFCON Warning System is a private enterprise which monitors world events and assesses nuclear threats against the United States by national entities. It is not affiliated with any government agency and does not represent the alert status of any military branch. The public should make their own evaluations and not rely on the DEFCON Warning System for any strategic planning. At all times, citizens are urged to learn what steps to take in the event of a nuclear attack.
If this had been an actual attack, the DEFCON Warning System will give radiation readings for areas that are reported to it. Your readings will vary. This system serves the Kettle Falls area of Northeast Washington. Official news sources will have radiation readings for your area.
For immediate updates, go to www.defconwarningsystem.com. Breaking news and important information can be found on the DEFCON Warning System message board and on the DEFCON Twitter feed DEFCONWS. You may also subscribe to the YouTube channel DefconWarningSystem and the DEFCON Warning System mailing list. Note that Twitter and YouTube updates may be subject to delays. The next scheduled update is 2 P.M. Pacific Time, December 1st, 2013. Additional updates will be made as the situation warrants, with more frequent updates at higher alert levels.
This concludes this broadcast of the DEFCON Warning System.
