Act now to stop cruel cosmetics tests on animals in the U.S.

Animals deserve better than this:

Stop cruel tests on animals

Take Action!

Dear Myra,

The picture that you see on the right is real. Archaic and cruel animal testing still happens today.

I've asked myself many times, why?

Why does our society insist on inflicting such horrendous cruelty on sensitive animals?

Join PETA's massive fall campaign to STOP industries' attempts to mandate product tests on animals. We're close to ending cosmetics testing on animals but need you to act today!

Plus, when you sign the petition, you'll be entered for a chance to win lunch with rock star and anti-animal testing advocate Dave Navarro!

How tragic is it that such hideous cruelty is used by corporations to create so-called "beauty" products? There's nothing beautiful about burning a rabbit's eye with chemicals or poisoning and killing a mouse in cruel product tests.

Although dozens of other countries have banned these horrific tests, members of Congress and environmental and industry groups in the U.S. are pushing for regulatory changes that would mean an increase in the poisoning, blinding, and killing of animals for tests on cosmetics and personal-care products.

Speak out now: It's time to ban ALL tests on animals for cosmetics and personal-care products.

In these archaic product tests, animals are forced to inhale chemicals until they become sick or die, are restrained tightly while chemicals are dripped into their eyes, or are immobilized and have caustic substances smeared onto their bare skin. In most cases, these animals must endure these horrors without any pain relief!

What is especially infuriating is that companies and regulators have better options that are not only humane but also more accurate. For example, manufacturers can use donated human corneas or human skin cultures grown in a laboratory. These and dozens more tests now in use today are cheaper, faster, and more accurate at predicting human reactions to a product than tests on animals ever were.

That's why the European Union, Israel, and India have all banned cosmetics testing on animals. It's time for the United States to follow suit.

Tell Washington that cosmetics testing on animals is unacceptable and must be banned. Sign our petition today, and you could win lunch with animal rights activist Dave Navarro!

We've done it before. When we started this campaign in 1987, only a handful of companies had policies not to test on animals. Now, there are more than 1,300. Today, we need your help to stop all tests on animals. Together, we must pressure our decisionmakers to protect animals, not harm them.

Sincerely,

Ingrid E. Newkirk
President
