This is the DEFCON Warning System. Alert status for 2 P.M. Monday, July 1, 2013. Condition Green. DEFCON 5. Condition Green. DEFCON 5. Condition Green. DEFCON 5.
There are currently no imminent nuclear threats against the United States at this time.
Continuing high tension remains in the Korean theatre, with North Korea engaging in series of short-range missile tests and moving more large guns into firing range. However, The two Koreas have resumed talks regarding joint commercial projects among other issues, a sign of easing tensions in the area, despite North Korea sabotaging talks.
Chinese hackers have targeted U.S. missile defense plans while China conducts exercises using digital combat forces. Bafflingly, the United States has invited China to take part in the Rim of the Pacific naval exercise to be held off Hawaii.
The United States is to give military aid to Syrian rebels who have pledged loyalty to Al Qaeda. Russia is backing away from equipping the Syrian government with anti-air missiles and claims to have withdrawn all troops from the country, though Russian civilians continue to operate in the country. President Obama of the United States has called for a further reduction of nuclear weapons as well as announcing unilateral cuts to tactical and strategic nuclear weapons. Russia appeared to rebuff the offer and is preparing to build a working model of its next generation heavy ICBM as well as planning to resume nuclear submarine patrols in the southern hemisphere.
In the Iranian theatre, the International Atomic Energy Agency has stated that Iran has not provided enough proof that its nuclear programme is peaceful.
The DEFCON Warning System is a private enterprise which monitors world events and assesses nuclear threats against the United States by national entities. It is not affiliated with any government agency and does not represent the alert status of any military branch. The public should make their own evaluations and not rely on the DEFCON Warning System for any strategic planning. At all times, citizens are urged to learn what steps to take in the event of a nuclear attack.
If this had been an actual attack, the DEFCON Warning System will give radiation readings for areas that are reported to it. Your readings will vary. This system serves the Kettle Falls area of Northeast Washington. Official news sources will have radiation readings for your area.
