Cancer clinics across the country have begun turning away thousands of Medicare patients, blaming the sequester budget cuts.
Oncologists say the reduced funding, which took effect for Medicare on April 1, makes it impossible to administer expensive chemotherapy drugs while staying afloat financially.
Patients at these clinics would need to seek treatment elsewhere, such as at hospitals that might not have the capacity to accommodate them.
“If we treated the patients receiving the most expensive drugs, we’d be out of business in six months to a year,†said Jeff Vacirca, chief executive of North Shore Hematology Oncology Associates in New York. “The drugs we’re going to lose money on we’re not going to administer right now.â€
Obviously liberal/progressives can't run a damn thing.
In Chicago, they are facing a $1 billion shortfall. How is Rahm Emanuel going to fix it?
He's going to close 54 schools, fire thousands of teachers, and bus innocent children across "gang zones" where some will probably be murdered.
Regressive, is this how the Democrat Party balances budgets in the Deep Blue One Party cities?
The irony is all the old people voting for these corrupt crooks. They are the ones who are likely to be sick and have cancer. And they will bear the brunt of these cuts. And all because of racism and homophobia, they stick to voting for the Old White Man's party to their own detriment.
Obama made this decision, no one else. He has the authority to cut those areas specified in the sequester. HE CHOSE THIS TO INFLICT PAIN AND HARM ON THE AMERICAN PEOPLE TO MAKE A POLITICAL POINT, not because he had too.
This is about ObamaCare not a reduction in the increase in government spending. Remember the death panels Sweet Nancy put in place. That was long before the so called sequester, which by the way, hasn't stopped the Obama's from spending money on their extravagant vacations for themselves and their kids.
This is exactly what this administration wants. In the mind of Obama national health care does not include the old or those that have illnesses that are expensive. They just need to go to hospice. However, that being said lung cancer is by far the number one killer, according to cancer.gov, and that is, for the most part, a self induced cancer. I should not be required to pay for their care. If you do something that caused the problem then you should be required to pay for it out of pocket. If you can't then you die.
