Thank you for your email. The petition that you refer to in your email has been misrepresented as an effort to add aspartame without labeling it. The dairy industry is asking that safe and suitable sweeteners, other than sugar, be used to reduce the overall carbohydrates in milk. The FDA petition would not change any existing requirements on labeling. All ingredients would still be listed.

 

This petition was initially filed with the FDA several years ago to help address the growing issues surrounding both caloric limits and added sugars for flavored milk in school. The FDA petition does not change any existing requirements that aspartame, or any other non-nutritive sweetener, be included in the list of ingredients. Allowing the use of FDA-approved sweeteners in flavored milk will allow those consumers who want a lower-calorie flavored milk to have that choice. Dear Manager,
I am a concerned or I should say very concerned, that the FDA is lobbing with the Congress to
add Aspertame and other chemicals to all dairy products.
I only purchase Darigold, because I thought it was safe from Chemicals. 
I am asking , whether you tell me or not, that in fact you are adding these poisons to your
products? 
It is also clarified that it don't have to be labeled, no one has to admit it is added to dairy products.
It is an atrocity , to this country. 
I am asking if you are against this poisoning our people, and not adding this poison(s).
I will post the answer, otherwise I will assume that you are. 
I will look foreward to hearing from you.
