(FreedomOutpost) – On Wednesday, the Department of Homeland Security, along with a SWAT team and Bernalillo County sheriff's deputies raided the home of Robert Adams in Albuquerque, New Mexico and, according to a federal search warrant affidavit the raid seized nearly 1,500 firearms from the man's home and business. However, no charges have been filed against him, despite the fact that court documents reveal that agents had been watching Adams for years.
By Wednesday afternoon dozens of rifles were hauled out of the house, bagged as evidence and laid out on the lawn.
According to search warrants that were filed on Thursday Homeland Security Investigations confiscated nearly 900 firearms from Adams' home, 548 handguns and 317 rifles. They also seized 599 pistols and revolvers from his office.
Neighbors say that he was a firearms collector and some indicated that he was also a licensed gun seller. No confirmation of that has been forthcoming.
While having been watched for years and no charges filed as they seized Adam's firearms, Federal investigators are saying that they are investigating him for gun smuggling, tax evasion, violating importation laws.
KRQE reports,
Court documents reveal federal agents were watching Adams for years and that some documentation was missing "to determine to whom Adams [was] selling or exporting his firearms."
The guns were also not properly marked possibly to make the guns more valuable and to avoid paying high import taxes, investigators alleged.
However, a bigger concern is that no markings on the guns and missing documents mean the guns are not traceable by law enforcement.
The search warrant also said Adams was investigated in Canada for keeping about 80 illegal guns in a storage unit. U.S. agents worked with Canadian police on that case.
Kurt Nimmo points out, "New Mexico does not regulate or specifically restrict the possession of firearms. Owners are not required to register or license firearms with the state.
"No law shall abridge the right of the citizen to keep and bear arms for security and defense, for lawful hunting and recreational use and for other lawful purposes, but nothing herein shall be held to permit the carrying of concealed weapons. No municipality or county shall regulate, in any way, an incident of the right to keep and bear arms," Article 2, Section 6 of the state constitution reads.
"Gun collectors are protected under the Firearm Owners Protection Act of 1986," Nimmo writes. "The law states that a firearms dealer is defined as a person who is selling guns for profit or livelihood. Unlicensed individuals are allowed to sell firearms from their private collection without performing a background check on the buyer."
Something seriously smells here. How can you be investigated for years, yet upon serving a search warrant you don't put forth any charges against a man when you confiscate nearly 1,500 firearms? I wish they had taken this kind of approach to the Obama Justice Department's gunwalking program that trafficked nearly 2,500 firearms across the border into Mexico that has left hundreds dead. No one is claiming that the firearms that Adams had were used in any crime!
So much for the Obama administration's claims that they aren't against gun collectors. Sports shooters and hunters, you're up next.

(Guardian) – The film Dirty Wars, which premiered at Sundance, can be viewed, as Amy Goodman sees it, as an important narrative of excesses in the global "war on terror". It is also a record of something scary for those of us at home – and uncovers the biggest story, I would say, in our nation's contemporary history.
Though they wisely refrain from drawing inferences, Scahill and Rowley have uncovered the facts of a new unaccountable power in America and the world that has the potential to shape domestic and international events in an unprecedented way. The film tracks the Joint Special Operations Command (JSoc), a network of highly-trained, completely unaccountable US assassins, armed with ever-expanding "kill lists". It was JSoc that ran the operation behind the Navy Seal team six that killed bin Laden.
Scahill and Rowley track this new model of US warfare that strikes at civilians and insurgents alike – in 70 countries. They interview former JSoc assassins, who are shell-shocked at how the "kill lists" they are given keep expanding, even as they eliminate more and more people.

(Perna) – Chris Kyle was murdered 02-02-2013 which is the same date on which we added the video EU Times Report- Obama Death Squads Fanning Out Across America. That video summarizes a report, that originated in Russian Intelligence, and was published by EU Times.

The information, that is contained here, might be a matter of life or death for a large numbers of Americans.
Time has shown the accuracy of the original Russian intelligence report, with the murder of Chris Kyle. This information is too serious to ignore, even though there is more more that will be learned as time passes. As of this moment, no part of this report has been shown to be erroneous. Thomas Jefferson said "The price of freedom is eternal vigilance."
I add:
"The battle for freedom is never won and is never lost.
The battle for freedom always continues.
It is never too late and it is never soon enough, to defend freedom.
No matter how enslaved we are, we always have hope.
No matter how free we are we are never safe.
NOTHING EVER LIMITS THE GOVERNMENT, EXCEPT THE PEOPLE.
Any generation that fails to defend freedom will lose it.
The next generation will have to shed blood to gain it back.
When the defense of liberty becomes a crime, tyranny is already in force. At that point, failure to defend liberty makes slavery a certainty." John Perna

(NaturalNews) – If you've been eating at Burger King recently, you've been snarfing down ground-up alien flesh. That's the result of a new DNA test that Burger King ordered after its recent horse meat scare in which one of its food processors admitted using horse flesh alongside beef.
What Burger King didn't expect to find was all the other DNA in its burger meat. DNA tests showed meat derived from flesh containing 56 chromosomes. Humans only have 23 pairs of chromosomes, or 46 total.
"We were duped," admits Steve Grinder of Anything Goes Food Industries, Inc. which supplies Burger King with its ready-made meat-like product. "We were told the meat was derived from illegal aliens, and we thought that meant clever people smuggled it over the border. We did not realize it was literally harvested from extraterrestrial beings."

Scientists study Whoppers in search of alien life forms

U.S. scientists have now flocked to Burger King stores to study the meat with DNA analyzers. "This could be the greatest discovery in the history of medical science," said Joyce Jeepers as she swallowed some fries. "If we could genetically modify humans with these genetic sequences found in the burgers, we could theoretically grow our own aliens right here on Earth!" In a similar way, Monsanto has said it is interested in growing "self-aware soybeans that can run from superweeds" and thinks alien DNA might result in a "scientific breakthrough" in GE agriculture.
Burger King customers say the alien meat tastes "pretty much the same" as the soybean-enhanced meat filler product typically used by Burger King. "Aliens or not," said one happy customer, "it still tastes great if you put enough ketchup on it."

Aliens caught in Mexican drug war crossfire

So where did the alien meat really come from? It turns out that a colony of human / alien hybrids has been living in Northern Mexico for years and was recently gunned down after being caught in a drug war crossfire aided by Operation Fast & Furious. Given the extreme poverty across the region, the alien bodies were harvested for meat, then hiked across the border to a food processing facility in San Antonio, Texas where the Mexican nationals were each paid $50 plus given voter registration documents for the next election.
Because the drug war continues in Mexico, more alien meat is apparently on the way, and Burger King is considering promoting the alien DNA in its Whopper and changing the slogan to, "A taste that's out of this world!"
"I never ate an alien before," said Bethanne Dorma, a hungry customer at the Wachadoin, Mississippi Burger King. "I ate armadilla once, and I thought maybe it tasted like an alien. I gotta try this new Whopper and see if it tastes like armadilla."
It is not yet clear what the repercussions for Earth might be when the alien civilization realizes we have EATEN its colony members.

(ExplosiveReport) – In its 2010 review of grants extended from 2005 to 2010, the Rockefeller Brothers Fund admits to buying off (quite literally) so-called "non-green voices"- meaning people outside the environmental community- to sell man-made climate change doctrine to their respective communities.
"(…) foundation dollars extended to support these non-green voices have grown dramatically (…). The RBF has supported "allied voices for climate action" that include businesses, investors, evangelicals, farmers, sportsmen, labor, military leaders, national security hawks, veterans, youth, and governors and mayors."
This is an actual admission by the Rockefeller Brothers Fund of sustained funding for specific segments to promote the "green" cause. In the document we read that both religious leaders and state/local politicians have been subsidized into selling the myth of man made global warming The report goes on to say that:

"Foundations, including the RBF, have played a significant role in building the capacity of these groups to organize their base members, communicate publicly about their interest in climate solutions, and advocate for policies that will address climate change domestically and internationally. In addition to its direct financial support of these individual groups, the Fund has also provided technical assistance for strategic development, communications planning, and advocacy training."
Specifically mentioning the National Board of Governors as beneficiaries, we read:
"Governors and mayors have proven to be very effective advocates for climate change solutions domestically and internationally. Across America, states and localities are developing innovative climate programs and serving as laboratories for pioneering approaches. Many have launched climate initiatives in their cities and states and have seen the economic benefits of doing so."
The review also describes in some detail how the Fund from 1984 onward has poured bucket loads of cash into climate change propaganda-efforts, including strengthening the implementation of Agenda 21 up to and exceeding the 1992 Earth Summit:
"Two strategies underpinned this phase of grantmaking: 1) distilling consensus on climate science and, 2) moving the discussion of climate change from the scientific community into the policy arena. (…) The RBF organized and funded some of the earliest meetings of advocates addressing climate change. It was also during this period that the U.N. Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) was created in 1988 and formal international negotiations on a climate treaty began in 1991; these culminated in Rio de Janeiro in June 1992 with a U.N. Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) that the first President Bush and the U.S. Congress ratified. A review of correspondence between then-RBF president Bill Dietel and program staff clearly indicates that the Rio negotiation and treaty, and the creation of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, were specific aspirations of the RBF program at the time."
Although from the late 1980s onward, it was smooth sailing for the Fund, by 2009 the Rockefellers hit a snag. Acknowledging that the selling of the IPPC rapport has become increasingly difficult since the Climategate scandal erupted, the Fund is now stepping up its efforts to refuel the heavily diminished effectiveness of the effort:
"While public awareness of the urgency for addressing climate change spiked in 2007, a deep erosion of public trust in climate science was sparked by an unauthorized public release of e-mail messages from the computer system at the University of East Anglia in Britain in late 2009. These e-mails appeared to suggest that scientists were using tricks to hide temperature declines and attempting to discredit scientists who were skeptical of human caused climate change."
Despite the described "erosion of public trust" the Rockefeller's at the same time marvel at the results of their grant-making schemes from 2005 to 2010:
"As philanthropic giving has grown over the past several years, with it have grown new organizations, new alliances, and new campaigns. Just a few short years ago, climate change was addressed by a small subset of the environmental movement. It is fair to say that the issue now has a growing movement of its own. Powerful voices from business, faith, national security, youth, labor, and agricultural groups have joined the fight for robust climate change policy."
To illustrate that this buying off on a mass scale of so-called "non-green voices" by the Rockefellers is far from an incidental funding-program, we know that the Rockefeller Foundation also actively engaged celebrity-journalists. As far back as the mid seventies the Foundation has been busy buying off reporters and funding media-empires into existence. Even then "climate change" was actively being promoted as a tragic result of human meddling in the affairs of mother earth. Genetically engineered food was already being pushed as the cure to remedy all ills. The 1974 Rockefeller Foundation journal reports:
"Several science editors were asked to participate in Foundation meetings on climate change, food production and interstate conflict, genetic resistance in plants to pests, and aquaculture. Stories appeared subsequently on the front page of The New York Times, and the Associated Press carried substantial stories which were widely used. In each instance, the writers were introduced to our program officers and encouraged to use them as resource people. (Officers are now, in fact, being called on by journalists, particularly in areas of current high news interest such as food production, population problems, environmental issues, and the arts.)."
On several occasions, and in different publications spread throughout its long and sordid past, the Rockefeller Foundation openly brags using media- figureheads for their own purposes. In none of these instances does the RF mention any problem encountered with any of the media moguls they contacted. In the 1974 yearly report, Bill Moyers is mentioned as one of the beneficiaries of information disseminated by the Foundation.
"In preparing its remarkable 25-part series on the world food situation, the New York Times reporters have become acquainted and have established fruitful ongoing relationships with a good many of our officers. Our staff have provided substantial information and further contacts for Bill Moyers in his television series dealing with the problems of global interdependence. These are only a few of the many productive new relationships we have established with representatives of the mass media."
Another arm of the octopus, the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) put out a document in 2009 describing specific tricks used by the Fund to reach congregations unwilling to go along with the UN's population control programs:
"UNFPA has found that leaders of faith ‐ and interfaith ‐ based organizations are open to discussing reproductive health, if issues are addressed with care and sensitivity."
These "agents of change" should also be recruited to protect and promote the overall agenda "through countering misinformation campaigns and building social support within the governments for the ICPD (International Conference on Population and Development)."
The ultimate goal of these engagement efforts is clearly described:
"Create a conducive socio‐cultural environment (impacting on behaviour, attitudes and practices) to ultimately promote and mobilize key communities towards achieving the goals of the ICPD PoA (International Conference on Population and Development Programme of Action) and the MDGs (Millennium Development Goals)."
"The National Religious Partnership on the Environment is an alliance of the US Catholic Conference, Coalition on Environment and Jewish Life, National Council of Churches, and the Evangelical Environmental Network that serves more than 100 million Americans."
Another UN front, called the Interfaith Partnership for the Environment was admittedly founded in the mid 1980s to, as the UNEP website teaches, "… inform North American congregations about the serious environmental problems facing life on earth."
The UNFPA, as the enforcement arm of the overall infrastructure, joined with their brother- and sister-agencies in the UN to encircle the world's religions reminiscent of a pack of hungry wolves:
"Since 2002, UNFPA has emphasized the integration of culturally sensitive approaches into programming efforts. Toward this end, it has worked closely within communities and with local agents of change, including religious leaders."
The pattern leaves little for the imagination. The old boys are at it again, using their resources to step up the propaganda another notch. After all, after the discrediting of the global warming contrivance, the globalists will have to increase their flow of ammunition in the infowar if they want to have a chance.

(TexasStraightTalk) – Whenever the federal government decides to reform something we can be fairly sure that the problem is about to get worse, especially if they call the plan bi-partisan. The bi-partisan immigration reform proposal launched last week in the US Senate will be no different.
The new plan, introduced by Sens. McCain and Schumer, would provide a path to citizenship for many of those in the United States illegally. This would only begin after the borders are deemed secure and applicants have paid fees for their illegal entry. They must also pay back taxes on their earnings while working here without government permission. Those on a path to citizenship would be subject to background checks and would be monitored while in the US.
The devil is in the details, and the details of the McCain plan are deeply disturbing. To secure the borders he is calling for a massive increase in drones flying over US territory, spying on US citizens along the border – and presumably within the 100 mile "border zone" over which Department of Homeland Security claims jurisdiction. What if these drones detect suspicious activity unrelated to illegal immigration? Imagine the implications for the federal government's disastrous war on drugs. Imagine what's left of the Fourth Amendment completely tossed into the trashcan. The "privatized" prison system in the US that now benefits from the war on drugs and illegal immigration will no doubt look forward to booming business thanks to the army of drones overhead.
Additionally, the McCain/Schumer plan calls for a nationwide, mandatory E-Verify program, which forces employers to act as federal immigration agents, and forces American citizens to prove to the government that they are allowed to work. E-Verify is an East Germany-like program that creates a massive federal database of every American citizen and notes whether or not they are permitted to work.
As Cato Institute privacy expert Jim Harper noted of e-Verify, potentially tens of thousands of American citizens would come up as a false positive for illegal status, denying them the right to work and forcing them to prove to the government that they are not here illegally. He writes, "If E-Verify goes national, get used to hearing that Orwellian term: 'non-confirmation.'"
Harper rightly notes that E-Verify is in fact a national ID card, writing last week that, "the system must biometrically identify everyone who works—you, me, and every working American you know. There is no way to do internal enforcement of immigration law without a biometric national identity system."
Much of the most recent immigration problem of the 2000s was actually created by the federal government. The easy money policy of the Federal Reserve blew up the housing bubble and created enormous demand for labor. This artificial demand was filled largely by workers who crossed into the US illegally. Within a year of the housing market crash in 2008, an estimated one million illegal workers left the United States for Mexico and beyond. Net illegal immigration into the United States last year had fallen to zero.
As I noted in my most recent book, Liberty Defined, much of our immigration problems would be eliminated were the federal government to simply return to sound money practices and end the welfare incentive for individuals to come to the US illegally. Afterward, what remains of the problem would mostly be solved with a far more generous and flexible guest worker program. Whatever the case, turning the US into a police state in order to fight a hyped up illegal immigration "crisis" is a bad deal for us all.

CNN host set to broadcast live show from gun store
(PaulWatson) – Radio host Alex Jones is on his way to confront Piers Morgan as the CNN host continues his assault on the second amendment by recording his show live from a gun store in Texas, renewing the debate between the two that exploded onto television screens last month.
Morgan will today visit Tactical Firearms in Katy, Texas, a gun shop that was unfairly portrayed as being sympathetic to the Obama administration's evisceration of the right to bear arms in the aftermath of the Sandy Hook shootings.
Owner Jeremy Alcede inadvertently caused outrage when he publicly supported a ban of online ammunition sales but it quickly became apparent that his words had been misconstrued. Infowars has confirmed that the store is vehemently pro-second amendment.
The CNN host kept the location of the broadcast quiet until today. He will be joined on the show by rock star Ted Nugent and Senator Ted Cruz, both staunch supporters of gun rights.
Jones will lead a friendly, peaceful protest with other second amendment activists who will gather outside as Morgan records his live show. Tactical Firearms is located at 1200 S Mason Rd.
"Piers, I'd like to shake your hand in Texas and have a civil conversation," Jones tweeted earlier.
"When I appeared on Piers' show last month, I invited him to come to Texas and enjoy some shooting. It appears Piers has agreed to do that, but he didn't invite me along, so I've crashed the party," said Jones.
Despite routinely acknowledging that it was his most popular interview to date, Morgan has refused to respond to Jones' challenge for a second debate on the gun control issue.
Morgan appeared to relent on the gun control debate late last month, expressing his annoyance at the likelihood that Senator Dianne Feinstein's anti-gun legislation will fail.
Indeed, it seems as though Morgan is mirroring Barack Obama's tactic of having himself photographed shooting guns in an attempt to make his anti-second amendment views look more reasoned.
Morgan previously admitted that he was "standing on the graves of dead Sandy Hook children," in order to provide a platform for his anti-gun rhetoric.
The day after Jones' appearance on Morgan's show, the CNN host and his guests made jokes about shooting the Texan radio host with a semi-automatic assault weapon.
Watch the original confrontation between Jones and Morgan below.

(OrganicPrepper) – Times are stressful.  In many homes, there are unopened bills in the basket by the door.  Bank accounts are in overdraft.  Every week the charges at the grocery store are a little bit higher than the week before, and for less food.  Kids want new clothes and that latest video game, the car needs to be fixed and people's jobs are draining the very life from them.
It is vital to take time out of the day to relax.  It rejuvenates you, improves your health, and calms your mind so that you can think more clearly.
When you have a million and one things to do, though, sometimes it's difficult to force yourself to stop.  This is because stress releases two hormones into your body: adrenaline and cortisol. Excesses of these hormones can cause blood pressure spikes, food cravings that lead to weight gain, and heart disease, to name just a few of the pitfalls.
Many folks decide they need a hobby, and that hobby ends up either costing them money with nothing to show for it, or it kills off a few brain cells as the person sits there, passively entertained in an altered state in front of the television or a video game.
Studies have shown that watching television induces low alpha waves in the human brain. Alpha waves are brainwaves between 8 to 12 HZ. and are commonly associated with … brain states associated with suggestibility…Too much time spent in the low Alpha wave state caused by TV can cause unfocused daydreaming and inability to concentrate….Advertisers have known about this for a long time and they know how to take advantage of this passive, suggestible, brain state of the TV viewer. There is no need for an advertiser to use subliminal messages. The brain is already in a receptive state, ready to absorb suggestions, within just a few seconds of the television being turned on. All advertisers have to do is flash a brand across the screen, and then attempt to make the viewer associate the product with something positive. (source)
Passivity actually opens up the door to your brain and allows you to be programmed – mass media uses this as a tool, by promoting ideas (like gun control, acceptance of the "big brother" philosophy, or the politically correct flavor of the month).  It inhibits your critical thinking skills and leaves your brain craving even more time in this low Alpha state.  This is the reason that some people sit blankly in front of the TV for hours every night, until they fall asleep on the couch and then get up to do it all again.
File:BenFranklinDuplessis.jpgBecause of this, it's important to choose your spare time activities in a manner that enhances your brain function, instead of reducing it.  In a world where entertainment means playing on your Iphone or sharing photos on Facebook, opting for industry for your downtime can be an unusual choice.  But, stepping outside the path of the herd and choosing productive hobbies is a great way to relax.  What's more, if your brain is engaged in an activity while you view a television program or movie, then you are not as susceptible to messages, either subliminal or blatant.  This means that you don't actually have to keep the TV turned off at night – you just need to refrain from zoning out in front of it.
In 1726, 20 year old Benjamin Franklin sought to cultivate his character.  He listed off the thirteen virtues that he  believed were important to living a good life, one of which was industry.  Franklin wrote of this characteristic, " Industry: Lose no time; be always employed in something useful; cut off all unnecessary actions."  He believed that the pursuit of productivity would build character and help the practitioner to lead a more successful and moral life.  In his autobiography Franklin wrote, "I hope, therefore, that some of my descendants may follow the example and reap the benefit."
We can absolutely apply Franklin's philosophy of industriousness and productivity to our lives today.  When choosing leisure activities, consider opting for a productive hobby.
It should either…
  • Teach something
  • Create something
  • Repair something
  • Improve something
That leaves the door wide open to a broad range of choices!  If you tend to be an overachiever, then you can relax without the guilt of worrying about all the things that you "should" be doing instead of chilling out.

Think back to the days before television.  People worked hard all day long, producing food, cutting wood, cooking, hunting, building…it was a full time job to survive and thrive.  In the evenings, by candlelight, they could stop and put their feet up for a while.  Books were not widely available like they are now, so families passed the time by performing stitchery, carving, making furniture, mending things and creating items that made their lives more pleasant and beautiful. Sometimes a family member would read aloud, play an instrument or sing.  Time was of value and not to be wasted, and there was rarely money to spare on an "evening out".
Productive hobbies not only improve your brain – they can save you money and better your chances for thriving in a post-SHTF world.  The ability to create or repair something will improve your standard of living and provide you with valuable skills for barter should an economic collapse occur.  Time spent teaching your children these skills will, in turn, pass down arts that would otherwise be lost to generations of the future, while helping your child become a more critical thinker and problem solver.
Following are some examples of productive hobbies.
  • Reading
  • Sewing clothing, curtains and soft furnishings
  • Knitting and crocheting
  • Carving
  • Repairing broken items
  • Mending
  • Darning socks
  • Building furniture
  • Making pottery
  • Cooking and baking
  • Writing
  • Drawing and creating art
  • Playing an Instrument
  • Singing
  • Archery
  • Making cards
  • Making jewelry
  • Fletching
  • Gunsmithing
  • Making ammo
  • Welding and soldering
  • Learning a language
  • Doing a puzzle
  • Playing a word, math or strategy game
  • Marksmanship
  • Exercise
  • Gardening
  • Preserving food
  • Practicing outdoor skills like hiking, camping and foraging
The list is endless but those are a few suggestions.  How do you unwind?  What do you like to do in your spare time?

(OrganicPrepper) – People all over the globe are struggling right now to put food on the table and keep a roof over their heads.  For some, these tips will not be helpful because their situation has become so dire.  For the rest of us, though, there are many places that we can cut the budget in order to put aside money to prepare.  If you are spending money on any of these things and claiming that you can't afford to prep, I'm calling "Baloney Sandwich" on that today.
You may not want to make changes.  You may not want to sacrifice your little luxuries.  You may feel like you "deserve" them or that you have "earned" them.
That may well be the case, but one day if your cupboards are empty, the stores are closed and your kids are shivering in an unheated house, how much luxury would skipping those pedicures while sipping a $6 Starbucks have purchased for you?  If you "can't afford to prep" but you are still spending money frivolously, then you have willfully signed on for a very difficult future.
I'm not suggesting that every person reading this needs to implement each one of these changes, but by picking and choosing, the money you save could be invested in your future – just call it your Prepper's Insurance Policy.
  1. Drink water.  Even if you purchase it in $5 gallon jugs, it's still the best deal around, with the added bonus of being good for your health.  Skip the soda pop, juices and sports drinks.
  2. Join a Farm Co-op.  You can get baskets of produce for more than half the year at a fraction of the price.
  3. Stop buying coffee in the drive thru on your way to work every day.  You can save anywhere from  $300-1300, depending on whether you are a Tim Hortons/Dunkin Donuts/Starbucks person.
  4. Brown bag it.  Bring a healthy lunch from home instead of spending $5 or more each work day on your lunch.
  5. Skip the meat – consider 2 meatless meals per week, or at the very least make meat a condiment instead of a main dish.
  6. Cancel cable or satellite.  Yes, the kids will complain.  Yes, it will suck at first.  Then you'll learn to do other things and it won't bother you at all.
  7. Lower your thermostat.  The Consumer Energy Center says that for every degree you lower your heat under 70 degrees F, you can save up to 5% off your bill.  Look into other ways to stay warm.
  8. Don't use credit cards. If you must, because of an expense account, be sure to pay it off in full before the interest can kick in.
  9. Shop around for car and home insurance to be sure you are getting the best price.
  10. Grow your own veggies and herbs.
  11. Find the best phone plan.  For some it may be Skype, for others it may be a cell phone instead of a landline and for still others, especially those who make a lot of long distance calls, it may be a VOIP service with unlimited national calling.
  12. Take shorter showers – this can save you up to $100 per year.
  13. Make homemade pizza instead of ordering delivery.  At the very least, go pick the pizza up to save yourself delivery charges and tip.
  14. Hanging your clothes to dry instead of using an electric dryer can save over $300 per year.
  15. Washing your clothes in cold water can save $50 per year – plus your clothes will last longer.
  16. Don't throw away your leftovers.  You can collect small amounts of left overs and combine them into something totally new.  We often keep a container in the freezer for leftover veggies.  Later we add them to soups or pot pies.  Sometimes we have enough miscellaneous leftovers to create an entirely new meal, which is like free food!  Another option is what my kids call "leftover buffet" – all the leftovers go out on the counter and the kids can pick and choose their items – the ovenproof dish gets heated up and voila – TV dinner is served!  If you have a few servings of dinner left over, put them in single serving containers so that you can grab them for lunches throughout the week.
  17. Eat at home.  If you cut meals out to one a month, you can save up to $3000 per year for a family of four.  As well, when it is a rare occurrence, it's much more of a treat.
  18. Shop secondhand.  Hit up thrift stores, Craigslist, Ebay, and yard sales before purchasing items new.  Seek and ye shall very often find what you need for a fraction of the price.  Also check out "Freecycle" – a website dedicated to unloading unwanted things at no charge.
  19.  Stay healthy.  Sometimes this is easier said than done, but by taking precautions like washing your hands and avoiding sick people you can reduce your risk of becoming ill.  Also, good nutrition, vitamins, exercise and sunshine all help to boost your immune system.  Being sick results in lost wages, money spent on trips to the doctor,  and expensive medications.
  20. Prep your food ahead of time.  Nothing says "drive thru" like a gnawing hunger pain in your stomach on your way home from work.  Spend time on the weekend prepping your food for the week ahead so that you are able to have dinner on the table in less time than it takes to wait in line at a fast food restaurant.
  21. Skip the gym and take your workout outside.  Walk, run, bike, or hike and save those monthly fees.
  22. Quit smoking.  Need I say more?
  23. DIY your hair color.  At the very least, touch up your roots at home.
  24. Speaking of hair – consider simplifying.  Try to stretch the time between hair cuts, learn to trim your hair yourself, forgo the fancy highlights and procedures, and cut back on the products.  I realize not everyone is as enthusiastic about the ponytail as I am but see where you can simplify.
  25. Ditch the fake nails.  I used to have a friend that insisted it was necessary to her job to have perfectly manicured fingers. No.  If you are not a professional hand model, it's not.  Either learn to do it yourself or simplify to short neat fingernails buffed to a shine.  I sincerely doubt any person ever lost a job for not having artificial nails.
  26. Clip coupons, but be sure to compare with the price of the less expensive store brands – sometimes coupons aren't that great of a deal.
  27. Skip the fancy cleaning supplies and use household items like white vinegar and baking soda to keep your house spotless.
  28. Repair instead of replace.  In our disposable society, most  people say "Oh, it's only $3 – I'll get a new one."  Repairing items isn't just a way to save money – it's a great way to improve your prepper skills.  Learn skills like mending, darning, welding, simple electrical and mechanical repairs and minor carpentry.
  29. Skip the doggie beauty salon.  Learn to groom your dog at home.  For the price of one trip to the groomer, you can purchase quality nail clippers and a good brush.  Use human shampoo and brush your pet frequently to reduce matting.  If your dog requires trimming on a regular basis, consider getting clippers, or at the very least, stretching out the visits with a bit more time in between.
  30. Stay home.  When you stay home, you aren't spending money on gas, drinks, food and shopping.  If you are the type of person that needs the social aspect of going out, take your own water bottle and picnic lunch, and focus on free activities like going to the dog park, the museum on free-admission days, and the splash pad with the kids.
Take a long, critical look at your expenditures and decide what your priorities are.  For the $15 per person that you would spend on an outing to the movie theater today, you could buy enough beans and rice to see you through a difficult time in the future.  Quite seriously, we are running out of time to purchase things at a reasonable price.  Taxes are increasing, prices are increasing and jobs are vanishing.  The time to focus is RIGHT NOW.
You can use one of these suggestions or all of them.  Be creative and come up with your own ways to save that work well with your life.  Realize that by spending money prepping, you will save money in the long run.
For those of you with a black belt in frugality, what are some cuts that you have made in order to meet your goals?
