Most my MIS experience was in the insurance industry. One nifty item that came my way
was that organizations that self insured, did so usually for less $ than if they had an
insurance industry policy. That this was a major challenge for agents. Granted, there
weren't many who self insured.
It is repugnant that an insurance company financially discriminates against one's rights.
I clicked on emc's link and read that they are A rated with A M Best. If Kansas decided to
self insure, this would allow them to comply with their law and adversely effect emc's rating.
To me, this is a HUGE WIN-WIN.
